About Us...
We are a small company based in the Poitou-Charentes region
in south west France. The getfrench.com idea
has come from over more than 30 years work by photographer and travel writer
Roger Moss who in that time has authored hundreds of articles about France.
Partners in the business, Roger and his wife Julia travel extensively throughout
France collecting images for the image
library and to illustrate the editorial features.
Roger is passionate about France, particularly French architecture and is well
known for his Gothic cathedrals collection and superb knowledge of their construction
and history.
Both Roger and Julia love exploring and seeking out special places, and Julia's
wealth of experience from her former career in environmental management and
sustainable tourism is invaluable.
"Roger has an amazing knowledge of the country and its culture" says Julia, who authors the company's websites, manages the image library and compiles all the facts, hints and tips for travel features. "We are a great team and love sharing our experiences with others."
Roger has been a member of the International Advisory Council of Maison de la France since its inception. He has previously worked in advertising, graphic design and magazine production. Editor of everything France magazine at its launch in June 2001, becoming Editor-at-Large upon his move full-time to France. His interests include cars, guitars, skiing and discovering new places.
When pressed for a comment Roger said: “Visitors to getfrench.com will find in-depth articles about France that don't appear anywhere else on the web. I hope they inspire people to explore France and enjoy the experience as much as we have - and still do."
